Q&A: How do you think my white and Mexican baby is going to look?

How do you think my white and Mexican baby is going to look?

I don’t care what my baby looks like, I will always love him/her no matter what. I know some are shallow and will look specifically for guy of a certain ethnicity just to make cute babies. But for me, I am just CURIOUS and IMPATIENT (about everything in general) and cannot wait to find out.

So…I am “white” with pretty pale skin, blue eyes, and dirty-ish blonde hair. My guy is Mexican; jet black hair, brown eyes, and relatively dark skin.

The thing is, I don’t think I know what a half-white/half-Mexican (or any Hispanic) baby looks like. I’ve seen a lot of 100% Mexican babies in my time, all of whom are like the most adorable creatures ever. I know you can’t predict what color eyes/hair/skin/features our baby is going to have, but can somebody at least fill me in on how the ones look that they have seen?

Once again, not that it matters. Just super curious and antsy…really won’t care once I actually see the baby ; )

From my experience the baby will probably get the darker hair and tanner skin, but be EXTREMELY cute! My cousin has two children who are mixed half and half like yours and they have dark hair but are ABORABLE!

Answer by parental unit
First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost a child before, and nothing compares. It is safe to continue to carry the pregnancy, you will be monitored closely to see if the living baby starts to have any signs of distress. I don’t know what the dead baby will look like, probably much smaller than the living twin. They say that, as hard as it sounds, you should look at, hold, and name the baby. It’s supposed to help give you closure and start the healing process. God bless

I’m white and my boyfriend is half Filipino, what will our baby look like?

Of course I will love our son no matter what I’m just curious.
He will be 1/4 Filipino and 3/4 White.
I tried finding pictures but can’t.
I know he’s going to be beautiful, and handsome.
I’m just wondering.
How dominant is the Filipino gene?
I really hope it shows,
Any pictures would be great.

Answer by Toby
I don’t think that you can know for sure, really. I’d imagine that there would be at least some Filipino features, but you never know.

Answer by Bailey’s Mom icon smile Q&A: How do you think my white and Mexican baby is going to look?
You will have to ask your doctor, or find out when the baby is born, you can go on the internet and find out if there are some sites out there to answer your question, but you really will not know until you see your little miracle♥

Answer by Danielle
The filipino gene is very dominant especially the eyes. For example Jon and Kate plus eight… John is half asian and he looks like 100% asian and all the kids have those eyes and dark hair and they are only 1/4 like your baby. But then again you never know when dealing with genetics but thats the most likely outcome since their dad is only half as well and they look very asian.

I have a friend that is Filipino and White and he def looks Filipino. The Filipino is a dominant gene.

  2. Elyse July 22, 2012 at 12:15 am #

There is obviously no way to know for sure how dominant certain genes are….however my friend is full Filipino and her husband is Irish, they had a little girl last October and she is a splitting image of her mommy. This friends sister is also married to an Irish guy and had a little boy 21/2 years ago and he looks like he could be my friends baby’s brother not just her cousin.

My husband is half Filipino and half white, I’m half Mexican and half white and I’m very excited to meet our baby! My husband and I have very similar features – brown hair, brown eyes, light skin that gets a nice tan in the summer, big almond eyes – overall, I KNOW our baby will be a cutie with all those features. Your baby will probably have dark hair and eyes and light skin. The most unique features on Filipinos – just judging by my husband and his family – seem to be the eyes and nose, so those features might be a little different on your baby. But you’re right – no matter what your baby looks like, you’ll think he’s the most beautiful baby you’ve ever seen.

This happened to a couple on Discovery Health. She was carrying twin girls and one passed in the second trimester. She delivered them both by cesarean and the twin that passed was alot smaller than the other and her skin was very red. She looked just like a normal baby just very small and very thin. My friend had this happen to her and her baby was so precious. They spent time with her after she was born and gave her a funeral and a proper burial. It was very sad and I couldnt imagine going through that myself. Im very sorry for your loss. It might help you to hang a memorial in the nursery or keep something in there to remember your baby that didnt make it. Maybe their footprints or something special like that? It will help you with the grieving.

I am so very sorry for you loss. Losing a twin is a unique and tragic thing.

I don’t want to lie to you – it depends on how long the baby is carried, conditions in the womb, if there was infection, etc.

It does NOT always look like a normal baby. The skin may be very fragile and red and peeling. There may be a lot of bruising. But you need to focus on the baby as a whole, the fact that this is your child, it has hair, fingers, toes, lips, ears, etc.

If you’re afraid, you can have your nurse describe your baby’s appearance to you before handing him/her over to you to hold.

Best of luck, and again, I am so very sorry.

  8. Melyssa July 21, 2012 at 8:31 pm #

So sorry. The dead twin will look like a ‘normal’, small baby. Nothing ‘gross’ or weird will happen to his body will in your uterus. Just really small compared to the other one. I’m sorry about your loss

  9. courterific July 21, 2012 at 7:41 pm #

Im sorry to hear this. The twin will look like a preemie baby because he/she has stopped developing. Its not going to be creepy or scary to you.

Your child will be gorgeous! All your babies will be so beautiful!
I have a mixed race baby granddaughter! She is the most beautiful baby girl in the whole world… She is dark haired, dark eyed, and looks alot like her daddy, but he is muy guapo (handsome!) anyway…. Her mom is very beautiful too! Your baby whether a boy or girl will be your pride and joy from now on!
Take good care of yourself and your baby on the way… and give the sweet father to be a lot of love too… teach the child to know and love both cultures, pray every night to know how to be a good parent to your child …best wishes to you and your family!

  11. mj July 21, 2012 at 7:07 pm #

Hi! My daughter is mixed the same way. She got my husbands dark eyes and super long eye lashes and that’s about it. She has light brown hair and a medium skin tone. I know that while I was pregnant I was worried about what she would look like. When she was born, she was the most beautiful baby ever, and still is!!! Good luck and Congrats! Don’t listen to moron who said the thing about being illegal. Most people think all Mexicans are illegal. They don’t realize that some go through years of paper work to finally become a citizen.

  12. smkwtrjck July 21, 2012 at 6:36 pm #

Your child will most likely have dark hair and a beautiful olive complextion. Most Mexicans are of mixed indian and spanish blood and there are quite a few with mixed black and indian. in either case, if your “guy” is of spanish blood, there is a chance he could carry a blue or green eyed gene so you may have a 1 in 8 chance of having a black haired blue eyed beauty.
as far as facial features are concerned, sharpe angular lines tend to become softened in mixed races. and rounded features become sharper.
I find that people of mixed “race” have a better chance of getting “good looking” genes (i myself am of phillipino, spanish, german, english stock and am quite good looking if i do say so myself) so be prepared
and no matter what the child looks like, You will still love him/her.

My friend is white and her husband is Mexican. they have two sons. The kids are lighter than their father, but not by much. The older they get and the more they are exposed to the sun the darker they will get. They both inherited the dark hair and brown eyes. They are very handsome little boys.
I think that in enter-racial relationship that it is very important to teach the children about BOTH of their back grounds. Like teaching them both English and Spanish, how to bake an apple pie and make tamales. Try to keep both cultures alive as best you can, that way they can teach their kids and both of your traditions can live on.
    Good luck and congrates!

  14. loveablelu July 21, 2012 at 5:33 pm #

Depends on the genes. My mom was white, my dad Mexican. I have light skin…and turn a Golden light brown color during the summer months. I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. My kids are mixed the same, my daughter came out the darkest with really dark hair and eyes, my two boys are both very white and burn sooooooo easily, they have light brown hair and brown to hazel eyes. It just depends on whatever God wanted to bless you with that day. Either way your baby will be beautiful! Congrats on your soon to be new arrival :) Enjoy.

You think your curious………….. I’m japanese and my husband is black. Now thats not one exact combination you see everyday, and I’m dieing to know how my son is going to look. My daughter is beautiful, she has that Chilli from TLC colored skin, japanese eyes, and long silky hair. But I don’t care about that ( I expected that ) I just want to see how my son is going to look. I really wnat him to look like his dad.

  16. Roadkill July 21, 2012 at 4:14 pm #

Well, its not really separate races here. Mexicans could be Indians or Spanish or Mixed. Spanish are Europeans, but some are dark like Italians and Greeks others are light like French and Germans.

My mother is Spanish from New Mexico and my dad was English and Scottish. I think we all turned out fine. Some of us are light skinned some of us are dark. We all have dark hair and eyes, although when young some of my sisters had lighter hair which got darker as they got older. Some of the nieces and nephews have blue eyes but most have dark hair.

I think your child will be beautiful.

  17. KeeCee July 21, 2012 at 3:26 pm #

My niece is 1/2 white 1/2 hispanic. She looks exactly like her dad. Lighter complexion and light brown hair, but she looks hispanic like her dad does. Most kids take the dominant traits of their parents. Dark hair, eye, and skin color tends to be the dominant traits.

My nephew on the other hand is 1/2 white and 1/2 philipino. His dad has dark hair, eyes, and skin and my nephew has medium brown hair, olive skin, and blue eyes. My sister has brown hair, green eyes, and with the american indian in our family line she can get pretty dark.

So, you never know…but most likely your baby will favor the father.

    Enjoy your baby!

  19. Common Sense July 21, 2012 at 2:28 pm #

Depends on what you & father look like..
Problems with Mexican parents are the short indian genetics….
Some do not grow very tall….5′ 5″ for men….

  20. Eva V July 21, 2012 at 1:44 pm #

dont worry , like all babies they will be beautiful?

  21. mamamugg July 21, 2012 at 12:50 pm #

    As I’m adopted…I know I’m at least, 1/2-3/4 Mexican!!!

I have many mixed relatives…Generally the dark will be dominate.

Although both of my children, until about 5 yrs. of age…Were blonde headed, with dark brown eyes. My daughter’s hair stayed a fairly light brown…While my son’s became very dark, almost black!!! Both also had/have very fair skin and, freckles!!! Yet, both tan excellent!!!

  22. Geoffrey Curtis July 21, 2012 at 12:07 pm #

It will be very cute, with perfect skin tone and blue’ish brown eyes.

  23. papeche July 21, 2012 at 11:34 am #

    goto download.com
    get a morphing program
use your pict for a start, and his for an end pict
stop it in the middle somewhere to see what your offspring may look like
closer to your side for a female, and closer to his for male.

( I think bi-racial babies are the prettiest myself)

  27. mel_70 July 21, 2012 at 9:02 am #

I’m an elementary teacher and one of my most memorable students was half white (mother) and half Mexican (father). Except for my own children, of course, she was the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen. She had jet black hair, brown eyes, long black eyelashes, and skin that looked like a white girl’s with a perfect tan. Your baby is going to be gorgeous! Congratulations!

  28. danceis#1 July 21, 2012 at 8:37 am #

gorgeous. congrats. have fun and never let one moment pass you by. i think that he/she will be a very tan, brown eyed, and brown-black hair. i think its pretty surtain that he will have brown eyes because u r the only one with that gene unless he has parents with blue eyes. the blue eyes gene is resesive.

  29. Daisy July 21, 2012 at 8:32 am #

Beautiful! I am blonde, have green eyes, and fair skin. My husband is dark, black hair, dark brown eyes. Our kids have light skin, but it tans easily. They have dark eyes, dark lashes, and light brown hair. I think my kids have the best of both of us. My inlaws have the same mix (WHITE dad and dark mom): they have one child with dark eyes/hair and light skin, the next has almost blonde hair and blue eyes – very pale skin, and the third has olive skin, light brown hair and green eyes. I bet your kids will be just gorgeous!
